MAINTENANCE POSITION

BEAVER COUNTY SCHOOL DISTRICT

Beaver County School District is seeking to fill a Maintenance Supervisor II Position. 

Qualifications: 

• Journeyman level or equivalent experience in one or more crafts (i.e., HVC, electrical, plumbing, welding, carpentry). 
• Skills to operate hand and power tools used in crafts, read and interpret plans, blueprints and/or schematics, perform basic math to calculate measurements, quantities.
• Knowledge of methods and use of materials, tools and equipment used in crafts, appropriate building codes, standards for safe use of equipment. 
• Significant physical abilities include lifting/carrying/pushing/pulling, reaching/handling/fingering, talking/hearing conversations, near visual acuity/depth perception.

Responsibilities: 

• Builds items (e.g. counters, temporary partitions, cabinets, shelves, walls, fences, ditches, wood structures, metal objects or other construction as needed) for the purpose of modifying and/or adapting facilities to specific needs.
• Inspects facilities, systems and their component machinery requiring skilled maintenance traces (i.e. electrical, welding, HVAC, plumbing security, buildings) for the purpose of identifying potential repairs and providing an ongoing program of preventive maintenance.
• Repairs systems requiring the skills of maintenance trades (i.e. building, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, security) for the purpose of maintaining facilities in safe, comfortable and operating condition.
• Responds to emergency situations (e.g. facility damage, damaged playground equipment, roof leaks) for the purpose of resolving immediate safety concerns.
• Coordinate with building custodians as required for the purpose of supporting them in the completion of their work activities.

 This position requires 8 hours per day – 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.  Beginning salary range $12.54 - $18.47.  Salary may be negotiable depending upon qualifications, experience, and professional licensures.
